New guidelines on social media released by central government
On 25 February 2021, the central government released guidelines for social media and OTT platforms. Union Minister Prakash Javadekar, Ravi Shankar Prasad gave information about them in a press conference. In view of the misuse of OTT and use of social media, the Central Government has issued new guidelines on this. Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that crores of people use social media. Ban on private banks removed, government transactions can now be done
The central government has lifted the official ban on private sector banks on government-related bank transactions (tax and other revenue payment facility, pension payment and small savings). This information was given by the Department of Finance Services on 24 February 2021. Earlier, only a few private sector banks were allowed for these services.
