Rajnath Singh Will Address Top Army Officers In Commander Conference

India’s Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will address top officials at the Army’s ongoing conference. Officials have given this information. The minister’s address is likely to mention various aspects such as the security situation of the borders, modernization of the armed forces and self-reliance in the defence sector. The four-day conference, chaired by Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Narwane, began on October 26.

There has been a situation of deadlock between India and China on LAC for a long time. The situation there is also likely to be discussed during the conference. The eighth round of military talks between corps commander-rank officers is expected to be held shortly to reduce border tensions.

Indian and Chinese military commanders met for the seventh time on 12 October to ease tensions. The two sides said in a joint press statement issued the day after the talks that the two sides agreed to continue the negotiation process to arrive at a mutually acceptable solution to the initial dissolution in eastern Ladakh.

“The first day of the conference was spent in deliberations on matters related to human resource management. Today’s (Wednesday) schedule includes an in-depth discussion on various agenda points projected by various army commanders,” the officials said.
