The four-day conference of army commanders started on Monday, in which the issue related to human resource management was discussed in a strong force of 13 lakh personnel on the first day. Sources said that on Tuesday, the commanders are expected to undertake an overall review of India’s combat preparedness along the border with China in eastern Ladakh.
He said that the commanders had a detailed discussion on the issues related to young talent, promotion and fulfilling the aspirations of all rank personnel of the army. This is a military event held twice a year. In a four-day conference commencing from Monday, the top commander of the army will make a comprehensive assessment of India’s combat preparedness in eastern Ladakh as well as other sensitive areas along the Line of Actual Control with China.
Government sources said the commanders would discuss long-pending reforms for rational distribution of resources, including practices for holding various ceremonies and measures to cut down on non-military activities. Army Chief General MM Narwane is presiding over the Military Commander’s Conference (ACC). All military commanders, Principal Staff Officers (PSOs) and other senior officers of military headquarters are participating in this.
Sources said that Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief of Defense Chief General Bipin Rawat, Naval Chief Admiral Karambir Singh and Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadoria will address the commanders on Tuesday.
A source said, “Military commanders will undertake a comprehensive review of security challenges before the nation including East Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir.” The situation in East Ladakh remains tense as the Indian and Chinese forces have deployed more than 50,000 troops along the Line of Actual Control since the standoff escalated in early May.

Sources said that on Wednesday, various agenda points raised by top military commanders will be discussed in depth. The issues raised by the Commander-in-Chief of Andaman and Nicobar Command will also be discussed. It is the only command of all the three armies of India.
He said that apart from reviewing the security challenges facing the nation, military commanders will also discuss the recommendations made by different internal committees for various corrective measures for the use of resources. Along with this, emphasis will also be given on increasing the operational capacity of the force having 13 lakh personnel.
