India Govt’s Afghanistan Evacuation Mission Named “Operation Devi Shakti”
“Operation Devi Shakti : After the Taliban occupation of Afghanistan, India’s complex mission to rescue Indian citizens and Afghan allies from Kabul has been named ‘Operation Devi Shakti’. Since the Taliban occupation of Afghanistan, the Indian government has been working to bring out the Indians trapped in Afghanistan. The government has so far evacuated 800 people from Afghanistan since the Taliban took over the country recently. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has confirmed this name. For the first time, a private sector company in India has manufactured grenades and handed over the first batch to the Indian Army in the presence of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. An army jawan was killed and several others had to be hospitalized during training on Saturday at Mamun military station near Pathankot in Punjab. It is being said that a jawan died of ‘heat stroke’ due to severe heat during training.
