AMC-NT Entry Eligibility

To apply for the AMC NT Entry program, a candidate must meet the following eligibility requirements. 

  • Age Limit: The age limit is between 28 – 42 years for most positions, up to 40 years for other roles, and up to 42 years for Clerk and Storekeeper Technical.
  • Education: 12th pass with Biology.

  • Service Requirement: In order to be eligible to be considered as an internal candidate for the AMC NT Entry Program, an applicant must have served a minimum of five years.
  • All candidates may submit three attempts for both Permanent and Short-Service Commission via the AMC NT Entry Program.

Selection Procedure for AMC-NT Entry

To apply for an AMC NT Entry

  1. Applicants must submit their applications through their units
  2. candidates selected for SSB Interviews will attend an SSB Interview at one of the four selection centres located across India (Allahabad/Bangalore/Jalandhar/Bhopal)
  3. candidates who are recommended for medical examination will be referred to the appropriate Army medical facility
  4.  If they are being selected for Permanent Commission, they will be required to attend a written examination in Biology and General Knowledge at the AMC Centre, Lucknow, during July.
  5. Merit List will be sent to DG AFMS, and 
  6. selected candidates will receive 3 months of training at AMC Centre Lucknow.

Career Progression in AMC-NT Entry

Selected candidates enter AMC as a Lieutenant. Career progression is as follows:

  • Lt → Captain→ Major → Lt Colonel → Colonel → Brigadier (highest rank attainable).
  • Retirement ages are: Lt Col-56, Col-57,  and up to Brigadier for exceptional cases.
