Captain Varun Singh dies : Indian Air Force Group Captain Varun Singh, the lone survivor of the helicopter crash in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu, has passed away. The Indian Air Force (IAF) has given this information through its social media handle. The IAF wrote, “We are deeply pained to inform that Group Captain Varun Singh has passed away. He passed away on December 8, 2021 due to injuries sustained in a helicopter accident in Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu Helicopter Crash : Difficulty In Identifying Dead Bodies, DNA Samples From Family Members Asked
The Indian Army has given new information regarding the helicopter crash on Wednesday. The Indian Army said that the accident was so horrific that it is difficult to identify the remains. Taking into account the sensitivity and emotional well-being of the loved ones, all possible measures are being taken for positive identification. The army further said that the families of all the deceased jawans are reaching Delhi. Necessary help is being provided to all. DNA samples of family members are being taken for positive identification of dead bodies. The bodies will be given to the relatives only after positive identification.
Group Captain Varun Singh Only Survivor of Tamil Nadu Helicopter Crash In Critical Condition
Group Captain Varun Singh, the only survivor of the helicopter crash in which Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat and 12 others were killed, is “critical, but stable”. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh told parliament that he is on life support and “all efforts are being made to save him”. Group Captain Singh is being treated for severe burn injuries at the military hospital in Wellington. He will be shifted to Bengaluru, his father, Colonel KP Singh (retired), said, according to PTI. “He is being shifted to Bengaluru. I have reached Wellington,” Col Singh was quoted as saying by PTI.
