Mumbai Terror Attack: On November 26, 2008, 10 Lashkar-e-Taiba militants entered Pakistan by sea and opened fire, killing 166 people, including 18 security personnel, and injuring several others. Those killed in the attack included Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) chief Hemant Karkare, Army Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, Mumbai Additional Police Commissioner Ashok Kamte, Senior Police Inspector Vijay Salaskar, and Assistant Sub Inspector Tukaram Ombale. The militants targeted Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Oberoi Trident, Taj Mahal Hotel, Leopold Cafe, Cama Hospital, and Nariman House Jewish Community Center, also known as Nariman Light House.
