To give a befitting reply to the enemies, the strength of the country’s army will now increase the military weapons to be built in the Small Arms Factory (SAF). The Ordnance Factory Board has indicated that large orders of Joint Venture Protective Carbine (JVPC), Light Machine Gun (LMG) and CQB Carbine are to be received soon from Army and Police. It will then be supplied from SAF.
The trial of Joint Venture Protective Carbine has been successful two months ago. During the test, more than 12 engineers from the Pune-based Air Armament Research and Development Unit visited the SAF. On Friday, SAF General Manager AK Maurya took stock of the proof range located in the Senior Quality Assurance Establishment Unit of Director General Quality Assurance. Here he oversaw the firing-way of mag guns, LMGs, carbines and JVPCs.
To maintain the quality of these military weapons at a high level, GM discussed with the establishment chief Colonel Amit Sharma for a long time. He said that even in this round of competition, SAF is trying to come first. Said to fulfill the requirements related to modernization. Instructions were also issued for modernization on the basis of standards. Said that the work of construction and DGQA wing is to make high level weapons. Both are trying to complete it together.
The GM said that as the Ordnance Factory is moving towards corporatization as per the policies and guidelines of the government, the officers are being very active about self-reliance. Tools are being made keeping Make in India a priority. Lt. Col. VP Singh, AGM Lokesh Bajpai, Ghanshyam Tripathi, Man Singh Meena, Jitesh Mahato, Rahul Maurya and Kamalkant Chaudhary were present during this period.
