Ø  Sainik Schools are Set of schools managed by Sainik School Society under Ministry Of Defence It was Started In 1961, By V.K. Krishna Menon with various Objectives

Objective of Sainik School –

Ø  Prepare students academically, mentally and physically so they  enter into NDA and INA.

Ø  Today Sainik School along with RIMC and RMS (Rashtriya Indian Military School) contribute to 30% officers in NDA and INA

Ø  33 sainik Schools as of now.

Ø  Ministry Of Defence Has Proposed to Open 100 More Sainik Schools

Why Sainik School was set up?

It is Important to Understand why Sainik Schools Were Set Up.During the Era of British Ruled India,Britishers Wanted to Improve the Quality Of Education as Many Britishers Families too shifted along with Officers .To improve the Quality Of Education  so that Future Class Military Officers can be made up of Schools-RIMC and RMS were set up thus On similar Grounds Sainik School was set up 

First Sainik School –  First Sainik School was set up in Lucknow in 1961

Curriculum followed – CBSE

Admission – Class 6^th, Class 9^th

Reservation – SC/ST, Domicile of State, Words of Armed Forces Employee, Ex- Serviceman.

Objectives of Sainik School –

1. Prepare students to lead as Officers in Defence scores.

Infrastructure –

Sports, Athelete, Horse Riding, Mountaineering, Tracking, NCC
