Plasma therapy removed from corona treatment

A big decision has been taken regarding the treatment of Coronavirus. The Central Government has recently revised the clinical consultation for the treatment of corona patients. The government removed the use of plasma therapy from clinical management guidelines on 17 May 2021 to treat patients.

According to the report, the government found that plasma therapy has not proved to be helpful in the treatment of corona patients, in eliminating critical illness and reducing the cases of death. On behalf of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), it has been reported that the use of plasma therapy for the treatment of Covid-19 patients has been removed from the clinical management guidelines.

During the meeting of the National Task Force-ICMR set up for Covid-19 last week, all the members agreed to remove plasma therapy from the Corona treatment guidelines, after which the government’s decision has come out. Plasma therapy has not been found to be effective in the treatment of Covid-19 patients.

An Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) official said the task force removed plasma therapy by amending the Corona treatment guidelines for Kovid-19 patients. It is worth mentioning that some medical experts and scientists have made Principal Scientific Advisor K.K. Vijayaraghavan cautioned the use of plasma therapy for Covid-19 treatment in the country as irrational and non-scientific use.
