In a major reform initiative, the Department of Military Affairs (DMA) has recommended significant cuts in pension of premature retirees and raising the retirement age of certain categories of officers. Officials said the DMA’s move, headed by chief defense chief General Bipin Rawat, is part of a series of reforms focused on ensuring adequate use of resources and manpower. According to the new proposal, the age of retirement of Colonel, Brigadier and Major General in the Army and their counterparts in the Navy and Air Force would be 57, 58 and 59 years respectively.

The Indian Army will call for a full withdrawal of Chinese troops from all deadlocked locations in East Ladakh in the eighth round of Corps Commander level scheduled to be held on Friday. Panna Tiger Reserve gets status of Biosphere Reserve from UNESCO
Panna Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh has been included in UNESCO’s ‘World Network of Biosphere Reserves’ list. Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar, while sharing the news on Twitter, congratulated the reserve for the situation and praised its work on tiger conservation. Adding the tiger reserve to the UNESCO list will help in discovering new measures towards the conservation and sustainability of wildlife. NASA will launch US-European ocean-surveillance satellite on 21 November
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) aims to launch the upcoming US-European ocean-surveillance satellite – Sentinel-6 (Sentinel-6) on November 21, 2020. The satellite will be launched with a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base, California. This information was shared through a series of tweets by Kathy Lieders, head of NASA’s manned spacecraft program. India tests new version of Pinaka rocket system
India is constantly testing its missiles and rockets amidst an escalation with China on the LAC. Many such successful trials have been conducted within the last two months.
