New Director General of National Security Guard

These days major appointments have been going through in each departments of the officials of country .

On this path our  defence forces had done major appointments  like  General, Admiral,etc.

The  Union Cabinet Committee have appointed IPS officer Anup Kumar Singh as new director general of the National Security Guard (NSG).

About NSG and its new Director General

• Senior IPS Anup Kumar Singh is from the 1985 batch of Gujarat cadre and he is currently giving  his services to Ahmadabad Police .
•  ‘ Black cat commandos’ is another name of NSG.
• They wear black uniforms.
• These unit are especially for the counter terrorism, it establish  in 1984.
• These are the types of special forces because they are trained for specific situations.
• They play role in  Operation Blue Star, assassination of Indira Gandhi and Akshardham Temple attack.
• It is a federal contingency force to counter terrorists and hijack-like incidents with a view to protect states against internal disturbances.
• They also offers service as the personal security to VIPs like Our defence minister Shri Rajnath Singh.
