The overall cooperation and coordination between the armies of the two countries on Indo-Myanmar border management has improved after a recent visit by the Army Chief MM Narwane to Myanmar. “The diplomatic efforts in the military sector during his recent visit to Myanmar by the Army Chief played a key role in this,” said an official. Sources said that one of the main leaders of the group, which broke away from the NSCN (K), is in the process of surrendering to security forces in Phek district of Nagaland with 52 members (cadres). Sources said that the Nikki Sumi-led group, which broke away from the NSCN (K-yung Ang), has more than 60 rebels. Sources said Sumi has been a key commander of the NSCN (K) group.
