Jammu and Kashmir: Army pays tribute to four soldiers martryred in Pakistani firing

The army paid tribute to the four soldiers who were martyred in the incidents of violation of the ceasefire agreement by Pakistan in various sectors near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.

In Jammu and Kashmir, 11 people were killed, including five jawans, in a ceasefire violation at several places on LoC between Gurez and Uri sectors on Friday. In return, the Indian Army caused major damage to the infrastructure of the Pakistani Army.

Four army personnel, one BSF officer and six civilians died in Pakistan’s attacks. “The army today paid tribute to Havildar Hardhan Chandra Roy, Naik Satai Bhushan Ramesh Rao, Gunner Subodh Ghosh and soldier J Rishikesh Ramchandra, who made the supreme sacrifice in North Kashmir on November 13,” an army spokesman said.
He said, “In a ceremony at Badamibagh Cantonment, the commander of the Chinar Corps, Lieutenant General BS Raju and all the officers paid tribute to the brave soldiers on behalf of the proud and grateful nation.”

He said that Havildar Roy and Gunner Ghosh of the Regiment of Artillery were posted in the Uri sector, while Naik Ramesh Rao and Sepoy Ramachandra of the Maratha Light Infantry were stationed in the Gurez sector. ”

The spokesman said, “Pakistan’s army fired without provocation, in which our brave soldiers were injured. He was provided immediate medical help but unfortunately, he died. ”

Roy (38), a resident of Mahedhipara village in Assam’s Dhubri district, joined the army in 2001. He is survived by his wife and a son.

Ramesh Rao (28), a resident of Katol village in Nagpur district of Maharashtra, joined the army in 2011. He has parents in his family.

The spokesman said that Ghosh (22) became part of the army in 2017. He was a resident of village Raghunathpur in Nadia district of West Bengal and is survived by his wife and parents.

Sipahi Ramchandra (20), a resident of Bahirewadi village in Maharashtra’s Kolhapur district, joined the army in 2019 and has parents in his family.

The spokesman said the Chinar Corps also salutes the supreme sacrifice of the Border Security Force (BSF) sub-inspector Rakesh Doval, who sacrificed his life in response to hostilities during a ceasefire violation in the Naugam sector.
