How To Join Military Nursing Service

It is necessary that the candidate must have a biology subject at 12th level. The Army Military also provides permanent/short service commission in the nursing service. For nursing courses, the Army gives admission to the selected candidate in the Armed Forces Medical Colleges. This course is conducted by the Indian Army at its own training center. Only women candidates are eligible for these posts. For this, the candidate has to apply through online (www.indianarmy.nic.in).

As far as the Permanent Commission is concerned, it is given by the military for full service i.e. till retirement from the Indian Army. According to the Indian Army, if someone is selected for short service commission, then she is eligible to apply for permanent service commission. For permanent commission, the candidate has to join National Defense Academy, Pune or Indian Military Academy, Dehradun or Officer Training Academy, Gaya.

MNS Short Service Commission

Short service commission is given to the candidate for a fixed period. The duration of which is 10 + 4. After completing this period, the male candidate becomes eligible to apply for permanent commission, the army can also give four years extension to the candidate. In the case of the same women candidates, they may have to leave the army after a period of 10 + 4 years. The initial period of 10 years is called the initial period and the subsequent 4 years is extended.

After 10 years, the candidate has 3 options – either the candidates get selected for a permanent commission or leave the job or stay for 4 more years. During a four-year job promotion, a worker can take retirement anytime he wishes. The women recommended for service commission are trained at Officers Training Academy, Chennai. The training period is up to 49 weeks. The candidate must be a graduate/postgraduate to apply.

Eligibility Criteria 

As far as eligibility is concerned, for selection in Military Nursing Service, the candidate must have passed XII (10 + 2 with Matric) / equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English (PCEB) subject. The condition for its selection is that the candidate has obtained a minimum qualification in the first attempt from a recognized institute and must have obtained 50 percent number as a regular student. Those candidates who are in the final year of the qualifying exam can also apply for this.

Note- Candidates who have passed such examinations from open schools or as private students or with a compartment in any discipline, are not eligible to apply for this course.
