France Air Strikes In Mali, Kills 50 Al Qaeda Terrorists

France took major action in the West African country of Mali and killed 50 al-Qaida jihadists by air strikes. The French government said on Monday that the airstrike was carried out on Friday near the border of Burkina Faso and Niger.

French Defense Minister Florence Parle said, ‘The French government is conducting operations against the jihadists. In this operation, on October 30, more than 50 terrorists were killed, their weapons were confiscated and many terrorists were arrested. He said that around 30 motorcycles have also been seized.

Earlier, after meeting Nigerian President Mahamadou Issoufou and Defense Minister Issoufou Katambe, French Defense Minister Florence Parle said, “The operation was launched when a drone spotted a large caravan of motorcycles in the region.”

Parle said, while the jihadis were trying to hide under the trees to escape the drone, the French army sent two Mirage fighter aircraft and a drone launching the missile. In this way these terrorists were controlled.

Army spokesman Colonel Federica Barbe said, four terrorists have been captured after this attack. He said a large quantity of explosives and a suicide vest were recovered from the spot. “These terrorists were planning an attack on the army,” said Barbe.

Barbe also said that a campaign has been launched in Greater Sahara to target the Islamic State, which was carried out by three thousand soldiers. He said, “The results of this campaign will be put before the people soon.”
