The Dhruv helicopter and crew that crashed in Ranjit Sagar Lake on Tuesday morning are still missing after 60 hours. Around 150 personnel of Navy, Air Force and Army are involved in the rescue work. Apart from the lake, the army has started a search operation in the surrounding forest.

Military sources said officials speculated that the crew may have jumped before the helicopter crashed. For this, they are being searched in the forest along the lake in Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir. At the same time, the team of Marcos commandos has taken the lead in the lake. But so far they haven’t got any success. The teams were engaged in rescue work till the writing of the news.

Since the accident, the army has set up its temporary tents in two km radius of the lake in Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir. Where common citizens, media and police are also prohibited from going. Only a few officers of the Jammu and Kashmir Police have been allowed to see the spot.
