The Territorial Army is a part of Regular Army and its present role is to relieve the Regular Army from static duties and assist civil administration and other important issues. It is maintained to provide units for Regular Army as and when required. The Territorial Army is not an active force but a Passive force. Basically it is an organization of volunteers who receive military training for a few days in a year so that in case of an emergency they can be mobilized for the defence of the country. Best Defence Institute in Allahabad NDA (National Defence Academy) is considered as one of the most prestigious Academy of Indian Armed Forces. It is a premier institute that trains the cadets (candidates) to get selected for Indian Armed Forces (Indian Army, Indian Air Force and Indian Navy) as officers. Candidates may approach the academy by qualifying a national level entrance examination (NDA) which is organized by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission).
