Army Helicopter Carrying CDS Bipin Rawat and His Family Members along with other officers crashes in Tamil Nadu, Probe Inquiry Ordered

CDS Bipin Rawat helicopter crash : There has been a major accident in Coonoor between Coimbatore and Sulur in Tamil Nadu. Airforce aircraft Mi17-V5 helicopter has crashed. Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat and some of their family members were also in this helicopter.

A total of 14 people were aboard this helicopter, including senior army officers. CDS Rawat has been taken to the hospital after the accident.

On the other hand, an emergency meeting of the  Central cabinet is going on in which NSA Ajit Doval was also present. The whole country is praying for the well being of CDS Bipin Rawat and other officers.

The rescue operation has started after the helicopter crash. At present, it is not known whether the IAF helicopter crashed due to bad weather or due to some technical fault. The Indian Air Force has also confirmed by tweeting on this incident that General Rawat was aboard this helicopter. An inquiry has been ordered into this matter.
