Army Cadet College 118th initiation ceremony : 68 cadets awarded JNU Degrees

68 cadets were awarded JNU degrees at the 118th initiation ceremony of the Army Cadet College (ACC), located at the Indian Military Academy (IMA). After three years of rigorous training and studies in ACC, these cadets have joined the mainstream of IMA. Now after one year of training, he will join the army as an officer.

The youth of the country, who had joined the army as soldiers, took a flight of progress on Friday. Over the years, the cadets who have cherished the dream of becoming an officer in the army have reached new heights due to hard work and dedication. Commandant Lt Gen Harinder Singh presented the graduation degrees and awards to these cadets at the initiation ceremony held at Khetrapal auditorium of IMA. Of the degree holders, 31 science graduates and 37 cadets graduated in arts.

The Commandant wished the cadets on their way to become officers for a bright future. He reminded the cadets that the ACC has given a large number of such brave officers to the country, who won many medals by virtue of their ability. In which not only the prestigious Sword of Honor of IMA but also gallantry medals like Param Vir Chakra and Ashok Chakra for exceptional courage and sacrifice.

Many cadets of the Army Cadet College have risen to high positions in the Army. He said that this is an important milestone in the life of the cadets who received the degree. Said that there will be many challenges in front of him, but the responsibility of maintaining the pride, honor and pride of the country will now be in his hands. Congratulating the cadets who performed excellently on the occasion, asked them to maintain consistency in their performance. Earlier, ACC Principal Dr. Naveen Kumar presented the progress report of the college. ACC Commandant Brigadier Shailesh Sati congratulated the cadets.

History Of ACC

Army Cadet College (ACC) was founded as The Kitchener College in the year 1929 by the then Field Marshal Birdwood at Naugaon (Madhya Pradesh). On 16 May 1960, Kitchener College started functioning as Army Cadet College, which was inaugurated by the then Defense Minister VK Krishna and General KS Thimaiya. From here the first initiation ceremony of the course took place on 10 February 1961. In the year 1977, the college was attached to the Indian Military Academy. The college became an integral part of IMA in the year 2006. College gives opportunity to soldiers to become officers. After passing from here, the cadets take training as Gentlemen Cadets in the IMA and incorporate the qualities of becoming a military officer.
