Amid tensions over LAC, China agrees to negotiate all issues

Tensions in India-China relations are not hidden from anyone. Both countries have been engaged in efforts to improve their relations for a long time. Relations between the two countries have soured over the ongoing border dispute in Ladakh. But now there have been indications that there may be military talks between India and China. Officials familiar with the incident said that China Ravi agreed to discuss disagreements at all flashpoints in Ladakh, just south of Pangong Tso. Are not insisting on talking about where the Indian Army dominates.

On the condition of anonymity, an official said that the Indian side is considering a Chinese proposal for dissolution at all friction points, which China was not yet ready to discuss, now the next meeting of military commanders will be held by Friday are supposed to. On November 8, the Chinese side shared a proposal for an eighth round of talks between senior commanders of the Indian Army and the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) in Chushul, the official said. India demands that the negotiations should be focused on all flashpoints along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and should not be limited to a specific area.

Apart from this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping will be on a platform for the first time amid tension in both countries. In fact, the two leaders will attend the 20th meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) presidents, headed by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Pakistani PM Imran Khan will also participate in it. This is the third meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Conference in which India is participating as a full member.

Talking about the relationship between China and India, the next week’s talks between the Corps Commander-rank officers of the two armies could be held earlier this week. The official said that at present there was no proposal for a meeting of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination (WMCC) on border matters, which forms the diplomatic leg of the ongoing discussions on displacement and de-escalation. He said, “Naveen Srivastava, Joint Secretary (East Asia) of the Ministry of External Affairs, who co-chairs WMCC, has been part of recent meetings of military commanders and there is no real need for separate meetings of WMCC . “
