Tattoo Policy Of Indian Armed Forces

With Effect from 11 May 2015 a new Policy has been Circulated by Indian Armed Forces regarding Tattoo. The New Tattoo Policy is as follows:-

Candidates From Tribal Communities

Candidates From Tribal Community as declared by Government of India Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes Orders Act are Permitted to Have Permanent Tattoos on any part of Body.

1.) Tribal Communities need to Appendix B signed by DM/SDM of District or Tehsil where the Tribe of candidate is Presently Settled.

2.) Self Declaration with Tattoo has to be signed in Appendix A along with photograph of Tattoo.

All Other Candidates

Permanent Body Tattoos for all Other Candidates are Permitted on

1.Inner face of Forearms(i.e From Inside of Elbow to Wrist of Both Hands)

2.Reverse Side of Palm/Back Side of Both Hands.

Nature Of Tattoos

The sizeof Tattoo is not Specified however following rules has to be applied:-

1.Tattoos on any Part of Body is not Allowed

2.Tattoos with Lewd Comments or Offensive Comment is not Allowed.

3.Tattoos with Indecent Figures are not allowed.

4.Tattoos with Sexists or Racist are not allowed.

What to Do If You Have Tattoos

The Actions to be taken if You have Tattoo is as follows:-

1.Before Starting of Stage 1 of SSB Interviews The Candidates are Expected to Write to Commandant about Nature Of Tattoo .They have to Attach Appendix A, Appendix B, Appendix C

2.During Start of SSB Interviews In case Candidates have forget to Mention they have tattoos it is immediately  required from Candidates to  inform abt Taattoo.

“Candidates are Expected to Write to Commandant beforehand only. Do not Hide from SSB Interview Commandant.”
