Territorial Army also known as TA is Second Line Of Army and is Basic Necessity Of Our Country.Post the War of 1962 Where Our Country lost majority of Arunachal Pradesh,We understood the Importance of Territorial Army and Since then Territorial Army is an Integral Part Of Army.Every Regiment has raised One unit Of Territorial Army Including Special Forces-The Paras.

Territorial Army is Often Seen as a Source Of Employment which it is not thus it is Very Important to Understand the Eligibility Of Territorial Army.One Can be a Part Of Territorial Army as an Officer if he/she meets the following Criterias:-

1. Age Limit - 18 to 42 Yrs Of Age
2. Educational Qualification - Graduate in any discipline
3. Medically and Physically Sound Enough to Join Forces
4. Gainfully Employed-ITR is a must.

* Even Govt Officials can be a Part of Territorial Army Provided they Take No Objection Certificate From the Government Organization.

To be a Part Of Territorial Army One has to Give Online Examination Consisting of Two Sections:-

Section 1 - Maths and Reasoning
Section 2 - English and GK

The Territorial Army can be best described as the second line of defence in the hierarchy. It comprises of volunteers who receive compulsorily military training for about a month in a year. The Territorial Army can be pressed for assistance in case of any unforeseen circumstances and eventualities. In a nutshell, volunteers of Territorial Army serve the nation for a period of 1-2 months every year. It is not a regular profession or source of employment. It is just a part-time job.

Civilians seeking entry into Territorial Army need to appear for the written examination while ex-servicemen selection is solely based on the interview. Civilian aspirants have to pass through screening, which includes written examination & Preliminary Interview Board (PIB). Thereafter, the candidate needs to appear for SSB Interview and Medical Board on which the Merit List for selection is based upon.

REASONING: The question paper is designed to test the candidates' ability to draw the logical conclusion based on simple pattern of numbers, statements, figures, letters etc.

ELEMENTARY MATHEMATICS: Questions will be asked from Arithmetic, Unitary Method, Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Mensuration and Statistics.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE: The paper will also include questions on the History of India and the Geography of Nature.

ENGLISH: Questions in English are from Synonyms, Antonyms, Reading Comprehension, Para jumbles, Error Spotting, Jumbled Sentences, Sentence Correction and fill in the blanks.

The examination is conducted in two sessions with duration of 2 hours each.

  • Part I includes two sections i.e. Reasoning & Elementary Mathematics.
  • Part II includes General Knowledge & English.
  • There are 50 questions in each paper (4 Papers: Reasoning, Elementary Mathematics, General Knowledge, English) & every question is of 1 mark. Therefore, the written exam is of total 200 marks. Questions asked in Elementary Mathematics are of matriculation level, while questions of other subjects are of graduation level.

Bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognised board or University will serve the purpose.

No, only citizens of India (male & female) are eligible to apply.

It is relatively tougher than Combined Defence Service Examination. Cut off criteria is higher than regular entries exam like NDA and CDS. Moreover, an aspirant is screened twice during PIB and SSB interview, which is followed by medical test.

There are 50 questions in each paper (4 Papers: Reasoning, Elementary Mathematics, General Knowledge, English) & every question is of 1 mark. Therefore, the written exam is of total 200 marks.
Negative marking: Penalty for wrong answers of questions attempted by you is in place.

Minimum qualifying marks are 40% in each subject and 50% when it comes to overall average.

One month basic training in the first year of commission and two months annual training camp every year, which includes the first year as well.
