Central Armed Police Forces is a Gateway to become Commissioned Officer with Para Military Forces.There are 5 Paramilitary Forces which are collectively included in Central Armed Police Forces mainly:-
1. Border Security Forces(BSF)
2. Central Reserve Police Forces(CRPF)
3. Central Industrial Security Forces(CISF)
4. Indo Tibetan Border Police Forces(ITBP)
5. Shastra Seema Bal
All these Forces comes under Ministry Of Home Affairs and Offer Two Types Of Jobs:-
1. Officer Grade - First Rank is Assistant Commandant
2. Jawan Grade
To Become an Assistant Commandant One has to Appear for CAPF Exam Previously known as CPF Exam. CAPF Exam is Conducted by UPSC and is conducted once a Year. There are 3 Stages in CAPF Exam:-
1. Stage 1- Written Exam of CAPF
2. Satge 2- Physical Standards, Physical Proficiency Test, Medicals
3. Stage3- Personal Interview
Central Armed Police Forces is conducted by UPSC in Offline Format in month of August and Centers are Spread in Whole Of Country. The Written Exam is Conducted in two Papers:-
Paper 1- General Mental ability and Intelligence-Objective Type Paper -125 Questions-250 Marks
Paper 2- Subjective Paper -General Studies, Essay and Comprehension-200 Marks
After Passing the Written Exam, Candidates are Subjected to Physical Efficiency and Medical Standard Test and it is a Qualifying Round which means there are no marks for Candidates in this Section. The Tests under Physical Efficiency Test are as follows:-
100 Meter Race : 16 Sec(Males) & 18 Seconds(Females)
800 Meter Race : 3 min 45 Seconds(males) & 4 Min 45 Seconds(Females)
Long Jump : 3.5 Meters(males) & 3 meters(females)
Shot Put(7.26kg) : 4.5 meters(males)
Post this Test Candidates are Subjected to Medical Tests. Physical Standards for Males and Females who Wish to become Assistant Commandant through CAPF are as Follow:-
Height: Males (165 cm) & Females(157 cm)
Chest: (81-86) Not Applicable
The Candidates who Clear the Physical Efficiency Test are subjected to Personal Interview which is Conducted in UPSC New Delhi. Total Marks Dedicated to Personal Interview is 150 Marks and is one to one Interview
Paper 1 Consists of 250 Marks and Paper 2 Consists of 200 Marks.There is negative marking in Paper 1 while Paper 2 is Subjective type thus there is no negative marking. Interview doesnt have any marks
