Today in this special blog we are going to tell you about Preparation Tips for CDS 2021.
CDS Exam Pattern In Brief
The CDS exam consists of three papers: General Knowledge, English and Mathematics. Each paper is of 100 marks and the time duration is 2 hours. There will be all three papers in the written examination for admission to IMA, INA and AFA whereas there will be only two papers for admission to OTA course.
1 – Know The Syllabus First
The syllabus of the examination helps the students to know about the papers which will be in the examination and how much marks will these papers be. Also, knowledge of the syllabus also helps the candidates to know the topics which need to be prepared. So the first step is to know the syllabus first.
2- Solve some previous year question papers
When you are familiar with the exam pattern and syllabus then you should solve some of the papers of the previous year of CDS exam. In this way you will know about the topics of the real exam. After solving some previous year's papers, you should get your answers checked by yourself or subject experts. Now, students should assess their performance and try to know which subject is strong and which subject needs improvement.
3-Know your strengths and your weaknesses
It is essential that you should know what your strengths and weaknesses are. Since, the exam is getting harder; therefore proper strategy is required. If the candidate is average in all three subjects then he should follow the principle of Jack of All, Master of None. This means that if the candidate hopes to score above the cut-off, he should not waste his time in preparing for only one subject, but should give time to all these subjects equally.
If the students have complete grip on any one paper and the students are sure about good marks in that paper, then they should study sufficiently to cross the cut off and make a paper strong enough to do that paper. Score more than enough.
4-Why it is important to know last year's cut off ?
Students should get information about the cut off of previous previous years examinations. Knowing the previous year's cut off has the following advantage. By doing this, they will know what the safest score can be. If students appear in the mock test, then they can know that the marks they are bringing is more or less than the cut off of the previous year. It will tell how their preparations are going.
If their marks are decreasing compared to last year's cut-off, then they will also know where they need to improve and what topics need attention. Increase your speed to solve questions faster: Candidates should practice so well that they can get good speed in solving questions. To increase their speed in solving questions, students should practice various mock tests and sample papers regularly.
