Thousands of Jawans and JCOs in the Indian Army have been given relief by the Department of Military Affairs (DMA). Now a third of the jawans and JCOs’ salary will not stop. Jawans and JCOs in the Army have to fill a Part-2 order. If someone is married, someone has died, has gone on leave, has come back from vacation, has been posted elsewhere or promoted, then all this has to be filled in Part-2 order. For the Jawans or JCOs who did not fill Part-2 orders for 10 months, one-third of their salaries would begin to stop.<\/p>\n
According to a senior army officer, there is no such rule and the salary has to be stopped, but it has been a long time. Now the DMA has overcome this mess. He said that many times the soldiers stay at the same place for more than 10 months and do not go on leave.<\/p>\n
There is no reason that they have to fill Part-2 orders. He said that if present conditions are observed then the jawans who are posted in Eastern Ladakh under Line of Actual Control will do their duty or fill Part-2 orders.<\/p>\n
The salary was being wrongly withheld by DMA officials. The CGDA (Controller General of Defense Account) has been directed by the DMA to immediately stop the payment of salary. It has come into force since November. The DMA also asked that the reporting system be strengthened instead of taking steps such as withholding salaries.<\/p>\n
