Four Gorkha soldiers who worked with their husbands sent gifts to their wives at the army headquarters in New Delhi’s South Block. The Army Chief’s wife is also the president of the Army Wives Welfare Association.<\/p>\n
Indian Army officials said, “Gift parcels were given to the wife of the Chief of Army Staff, who gave it to his wives on November 6 in Kathmandu.” Soldiers’ wives were happy to receive gifts amid restrictions imposed around the world in the wake of the Kovid-19 epidemic. Officials said that wives cannot come to their husbands and it is difficult for them to take holidays as well.
\nThe army chief and his wife arrived on their three-day visit to Nepal from November 4 to 6. During this time he was awarded the honorary title of General of the Nepalese Army. This is a long-standing tradition between the two countries. The officer said that during the tour plan, Mrs Narwane thought that gifts from these soldiers should be given to their wives as they could not meet their families this year on the occasion of Dussehra and Diwali.<\/p>\n
The army chief himself celebrated the festival of Dussehra with Gorkha soldiers in New Delhi. The Indian Army has a large number of Gorkha soldiers who hail from Nepal and are considered the best. During his visit to Nepal, the Chief of Army Staff met the superiors. He met Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and interacted with his Nepalese counterpart General Purna Chandra Thapa.<\/p>\n
