What’s in the new proposal ?<\/strong><\/p>\n According to the new proposal, the age of retirement of Colonel, Brigadier and Major General in the Army and their counterparts in the Navy and Air Force would be 57, 58 and 59 years respectively. Presently this age limit is 54, 56 and 58 years respectively. No change has been made in the case of Lieutenant General and officers above them. It is proposed to increase the age of retirement in Logistics, Technical, Medical (including EME and ASC) jawans and JCOs to three years.<\/p>\n What about the pension proposal ?<\/strong><\/p>\n The new proposal states that the pension should be linked to the duration of service. According to this, 50 percent of those who retire after 20 to 25 years of service, 60 percent for those serving 26 to 30 years, 75 percent for those serving 30 to 35 years and full pension for those serving more than 35 years. will be given. It has been argued about the reduction in pension that many times, a large number of jawans and officers retire due to non-vacant posts and certain service conditions. They are given special training of skills in many fields and if these trained people retire prematurely then it is a loss for the armed forces. In view of this, a decision is being taken to review the pension.
