China’s defence ministry said on Thursday that thousands of Chinese troops stationed along the Indo-China border in eastern Ladakh have been provided with high-tech equipment to cope with the severe cold. Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman Colonel Wu Chuan said that in terms of the stay, soldiers have been provided with newly opened and self-heat heated cabins, which can be built by the military personnel themselves. In response to a question, he said that in areas with an altitude of more than 5,000 meters, where the outside temperature is below minus 40 degrees, the temperature (inside the cabin) can be kept above 15 degrees centigrade.<\/p>\n
