WHAT IS RIMC<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The Rashtriya Indian Military College i.e. RIMC i<\/strong>s an Inter-Services Institution and a Category-A established by the Ministry of Defence. The college was established in 1922 with the primary aim of preparing young boys for entry into Defence Services and to provide quality all round education to young boys. In simple words it is basically a military school for boys situated in Doon Valley, Dehradun. The RIMC is a feeder institution for the National Defence Academy(NDA), Indian Naval Academy (INA) and subsequently the Indian Armed Forces.<\/p>\n

Cadets at the RIMC follow the 10+2 pattern curriculum of Indian Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi over the next five years. A cadet, during his stay at the RIMC, gets a full glimpse of the life of an Indian Armed forces Officer.<\/p>\n

ACADEMICS IN RIMC<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Rashtriya Indian Military College is administered by the Union Ministry of Defence, through the Directorate General of Military Training, Army. RIMC is perhaps the only institution in the country where exams for Class X and XII are conducted twice a year, in May and November.<\/p>\n

These exams are recognized by CBSE. The college offers the science stream only<\/em> at the +2 level. However, to prepare cadets for the UPSC examination for entry into NDA, social sciences are also taught.<\/p>\n

HOW TO GET ADMISSION IN RIMC<\/strong><\/h4>\n

There is a pan India level entrance test organized twice yearly in June and December. The  exam is held in every state capital . 25 Cadets are admitted every six months. RIMC conducts an admission process in Class 8th .<\/p>\n

Eligibility Of Candidates: <\/strong>Only male<\/em> candidates studying in Class VII. The age of the candidate must be between 11.5 and 13 years<\/em>.<\/p>\n

ENTRANCE EXAM PROCESS FOR RIMC<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n\n\n
Written Exam<\/strong><\/td>\nThe written part of the examination will consist of three papers, namely, English (125 Marks) and Mathematics (200 Marks) and General Knowledge paper (75 Marks) .Minimum pass marks in each paper is 50%.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Viva Voce<\/strong><\/td>\nThe interviews are held only for those candidates who qualify in the written exam. Minimum pass marks in the interview is 50% and the date, venue for interview will be intimated to them by respective state . Intelligence and personality of the candidates will be tested in the interview.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Medical Exam<\/strong><\/td>\nAll the candidates qualified after interview will undergo a medical examination at selected Military Hospitals and only those candidates found medically fit will be considered for selection and admission to the RIMC.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

RIMC Exam Centres: <\/strong>Examination centres are generally located in the State capitals or in cities\/towns as advertised.<\/p>\n

RIMC Fee Details: <\/strong>A fee at RIMC is heavily subsidized by the Central Government. The fee is at present Rs.42400\/- per year. It may increase from time to time. At the time of Entry a Security Deposit of Rs.20,000\/- is to be made. This is refunded when the boy passes out.<\/p>\n
