{"id":4323,"date":"2019-12-11T13:22:29","date_gmt":"2019-12-11T13:22:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.trishuldefenceacademy.in\/blog\/?p=4323"},"modified":"2019-12-12T06:29:01","modified_gmt":"2019-12-12T06:29:01","slug":"extension-of-reservation-bill-passed-by-loksabha","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.trishuldefenceacademy.in\/blog\/extension-of-reservation-bill-passed-by-loksabha","title":{"rendered":"Extension of Reservation bill passed by LokSabha"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recently LokSabha passes the Citizenship Amendment\u00a0 bill\u00a0 as\u00a0 to grant\u00a0 Indian citizenship\u00a0 to the non Muslims Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhist, Jains and Parsis\u00a0 from Afghanistan , Bangladesh and\u00a0 Pakistan\u00a0 who arrived in India before December 31, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly\u00a0 LokSabha passes\u00a0 another bill which\u00a0 \u00a0proposes\u00a0 to extend\u00a0 SC-ST reservation quota.<\/p>\n<p>The bill got 352 votes\u00a0 in favour of bill while no votes is against the bill. The bill proposes the extension of reservation for SC- ST while there is no proposal for the extention of Anglo Indian Community.<\/p>\n<h4>\u00a0Feature of\u00a0 SC ST reservation quota bill<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Prior to the amendment bill Indian Constitution provides reservation to the SC-ST community.<\/li>\n<li>The provision schedule in the Constitution is for\u00a0 the extent of 70 years which expires on 25 January 2020.<\/li>\n<li>The (126th) amendment bill proposes an extension of 10 years of SC-ST reservation quota.<\/li>\n<li>However, there is no extension\u00a0 proposes for Anglo &#8211; Indian Community which is also expires on January 25.<\/li>\n<li>Government justifies action of not granting extension of reservation to Anglo Indian community as there is only 286 members in the country.<\/li>\n<li>Hence , there is no proposal of extenting reservation for Anglo Indian.<\/li>\n<li>The reservation of the SC-ST is constituted in Article 334 which states that the reservation given to Anglo Indian community\u00a0 and also to\u00a0 SC-ST will come to an end after 40 years.
