Territorial Army is Often Known as Second Line Of Army”<\/strong><\/p>\n

India is most populous country in the world. In 1949,\u00a0 the very first time in India the first camp was organised of Territorial Army, which was raised by our first Indian Governor General Shri. C. Rajgopalachari ji. After 10 years, not much value was given to TA, because in between this decade India had not fought any war. excluding the tough time of 47 and 48 concerning the dispute occurred with Pakistan. And after 1948 to 1964, for about 14 years India did not\u00a0\u00a0fight any war. After the initial spark of 1962 conflict was started and , gradually worsened. The very first approach\u00a0 by our then Defence Minister Shri. V.K. Menon from radio was\u00a0 to join army voluntarily. The same was done by Israel during the current conflict with Hamas. Keeping in view the activities of Hamas, Israel firstly invited his reserve forces and 3 lakh people joined IDF (Israel Defence Force). This reserve force is nothing but Territorial Army.<\/p>\n

Thus now we\u00a0understand\u00a0 Territorial\u00a0Army is a\u00a0 Reserve Force.<\/p>\n

Certainly, Territorial Army is reserve force in some or other way but now India Today has 65 battalion of Territorial Army in todays scenario.. Amongst these majorly 46 battalion are actively works as infantry. In 1972, these 46 battalion were declared as infantry battalion. Earlier, the battalion were raised in Territorial army then later these were converted as proper army.<\/p>\n

In Indian Army\u00a0there\u00a0are some supportive units like some of them are infantry, some artillery, armored or say defence as similar in Territorial Army.\u00a0In Territorial\u00a0army there are 46\u00a0battalion\u00a0which participate properly\u00a0for Indian\u00a0Army and the rest\u00a0works\u00a0as ecological survey, Indian Railways, ONGC etc.As saying\u00a0is said, when problems\u00a0comes,\u00a0it comes\u00a0in bundle.\u00a0 Israel is an example.To avoid such a Scenario India needs Territorial Army<\/p>\n
