Is Indian Air Force Removing Permanent Commission?<\/h2>\n

Indian Air Force Offers Two Types Of Commission:-<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Short Service Commission also known as SSC<\/li>\n
  2. \n

    Permanent Commission also known as PC<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The Tenure For SSC is 10 yrs extendable to 4 more yrs making it 14 yrs in total while that of Permanent Commission is Till the Age Of Retirement which is 60 yrs.When Aspirants Join Indian Air Force they look for Perks and Benefits Offered by the Organization.In both SSC and PC Perks and Benefits Offered are same when in Service however there is no Post Retirement Benefits when it comes to Short Service Commission. SSC Officers are not Offered any Pensions when they retire.<\/p>\n

    There are many Ways to get into Indian Air Force as a Commissioned Officer.The Various Entries Like:-<\/strong><\/p>\n

    1.NDA<\/p>\n

    2.CDS<\/p>\n

    3.AFCAT<\/p>\n

    Lets Talk about Each Entry in Detail<\/p>\n

    AFCAT<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

    Of This AFCAT known as Air Force Common Admission Test used to Offer both Permanent Commission and Short Service Commission however with 2023 notification AFCAT has Completely finished Permanent Commission.AFCAT now Offers SSC For all the branches which are:-<\/p>\n

    a.)Flying Branch<\/p>\n

    b.)Ground Duty Technical<\/p>\n

    c.)Ground Duty Non Technical<\/p>\n

    d.)Newly Inducted Weapon System Branch<\/p>\n

    For All the Branches AFCAT Entry has removed Permanent Commission which means now the Graduates will have only SSC through AFCAT thus no more of Permanent Commission for AFCAT Entry Graduates<\/p>\n

    CDS<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

    EveryYear UPSC conducts CDS Exams Twice a year for the aspirants who wish to Enter Armed Forces.Its a Combined Defence Services Examination only for the Graduates.In the\u00a0 Course of Time it is seen that number of Seats in CDS exam is reduced from over 700 to mere 395 which shows Downsizing is Evident in Indian Armed FOrces<\/p>\n

    It is Said Destruction and Development goes hand in hand.When on one Side Air Force is Going Technologically advanced while on other it is Downsizing which is evident through both AFCAT and CDS Entry.It seems Permanent Entry in Air Force will be through NDA.This is Evident with NDA having Ground Duty Technical Branch,Ground Duty Non Technical Branch and Flying Branch<\/p>\n

    Thus Eventually NDA will be only Entry in Indian Air Force to have Permanent Commission while All Other Entries will have Short Service Commission.<\/p>\n
