In this Blog we are going to Discuss About Defence Services Staff College<\/strong> which is \u00a0IIT of Indian Army. Actually its name is DSSC\u00a0 not IIT. Many people call it simple as Staff College.<\/p>\n In 1905, British army established an institute which trains the officers in British Army to use mind and muscle in war like situations. After, sometime this institute is shifted to Pakistan in those days it was a part of India (Hindustan). In 1947 after partition, the then prime minister Pt. J.L. Nehru ji shifted this institute in Wellington near Ooty, India. Wellington is selected because the weather is excellent with hilly tarrain and is very calm place. Since then DSSC is situated there. The first Indian batch was in 1948 of Indian army and in 1949 officers of Indian Air Force joined the college and in 1950 Naval officer also joined the institute. Since then it is known as DSSC.<\/p>\n Earlier it was known as Army Staff College. But since 1950, its name has changed to DSSC. The motto of this college is to focus on Unity and the aim was joint operation of forces. So that in war like situations victory is assured. Therefore right from the first day, DSSC works on the motto of excellence for joint operations and staff work. It expresses that war is won by unity.<\/p>\n To joint this college every officer of Army, Air Force or Navy has to work hard and there will be only three attempts which \u00a0will be given. An officer who passes out through Staff College his chances of promotion and the trust of the organisation on them increases. More responsibilities are given overall.
