A brief out-line of all tasks is as follows:<\/p>\n (a) Group Discussion<\/u>\u00a0<\/strong>:\u00a0In this task the group is required to discuss a topic\u00a0as given by the\u00a0GTO. There shall be two discussion, in the first discussion two topics will be offered by the\u00a0GTO, of which the candidates will be allowed to choose one . In the second discussion, the\u00a0GTO will give the topic and there shall be no choice. The GD is an informal exchange of\u00a0views within the group, nobody is to be addressed neither is a conclusion required. Each\u00a0discussion\u00a0could be\u00a0of\u00a020-25\u00a0minutes.<\/p>\n (b) Group Planning:<\/u>\u00a0<\/strong>As the name suggests the group is required to make a plan, in this task a\u00a0story will be narrated , candidates are a part of the story. The story shall have some\u00a0problems\/ situations, candidates are required to form a plan of action to solve the problems\u00a0or\u00a0resolve\u00a0the\u00a0situations.\u00a0The\u00a0group\u00a0will\u00a0be\u00a0discussing\u00a0and\u00a0then\u00a0arrive\u00a0at\u00a0a\u00a0conclusion.<\/p>\n (i)\u00a0\u00a0Part\u00a0one<\/u>\u00a0:<\/strong>\u00a0A\u00a0model is\u00a0introduced\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0group\u00a0by\u00a0the\u00a0GTO.<\/p>\n (ii)\u00a0\u00a0Part\u00a0two<\/u>:<\/strong>\u00a0A\u00a0story\u00a0related\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0model\u00a0is\u00a0read out.<\/p>\n (iii)\u00a0 Part three<\/u>:<\/strong>\u00a0Each candidate is given a copy of the story to read and understand the story\/\u00a0situation.\u00a0A\u00a0time\u00a0of\u00a05\u00a0minutes\u00a0is\u00a0allotted\u00a0for the same.<\/p>\n (iv)\u00a0 Part\u00a0four:<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0The\u00a0copy\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0story\u00a0is\u00a0taken\u00a0back\u00a0and\u00a0a\u00a0sheet\u00a0of\u00a0paper\u00a0is\u00a0provided\u00a0to\u00a0each\u00a0candidate\u00a0to\u00a0write\u00a0his\/her\u00a0own\u00a0solution.\u00a0Time\u00a0allotted\u00a0for\u00a0the\u00a0purpose\u00a0is\u00a010\u00a0minutes.<\/p>\n (v)\u00a0 \u00a0Part five<\/u>\u00a0:<\/strong>\u00a0After the individual solutions are submitted the group is required to discuss\u00a0amongst themselves and form a group plan. In the end one of the candidates may be asked\u00a0to\u00a0give\u00a0out\u00a0the\u00a0group\u00a0plan.\u00a0Time\u00a0for\u00a0discussion\u00a0could\u00a0be\u00a0about\u00a020 \u2013\u00a025\u00a0minutes.<\/p>\n (c)\u00a0 Progressive\u00a0Group\u00a0Task:<\/u>\u00a0<\/strong>In\u00a0this\u00a0task\u00a0the\u00a0group\u00a0is\u00a0required\u00a0to\u00a0cross\u00a0four\u00a0obstacles.\u00a0Obstacles are made at the SSB by drawing two parallel lines with a fair gap between them,\u00a0land in between the lines cannot be stepped on. The task is to get from own side of the start\u00a0line to the other side of the finishing line, to get across some structures are fixed on the\u00a0ground and some helping material in the form of planks , poles and ropes are provided\u00a0to\u00a0make bridges or reduce the distance to make it feasible to cross. There are five rules ;\u00a0Group rule, Colour rule, Distance rule, Rule of rigidity and Rule of infinity. On breaking of\u00a0any rule there is a penalty which is to repeat the action without breaking any rule or doing a\u00a0different\u00a0action.\u00a0Observing\u00a0rules\u00a0and\u00a0working\u00a0as\u00a0per\u00a0then\u00a0is\u00a0the\u00a0responsibility\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0candidates.\u00a0Time\u00a0about\u00a040\u00a0minutes.<\/p>\n (d)\u00a0 Group Obstacle Race: <\/u><\/strong>( Not in AFSB) The group is required to compete with the other\u00a0groups in this obstacle race. There are six obstacle in the race. Each obstacle is shown one\u00a0by one and the method to negotiate it, is also explained. Rules and penalty are also\u00a0explained.<\/p>\n (e)\u00a0 Half Group Task:<\/u>\u00a0<\/strong>In this task the group is divided into two and one obstacle , as in PGT, has to be negotiated. When one half of the group is negotiating the obstacle the other part of the group will not be allowed to be a spectator but will be seated away from the obstacle, after one half of the group has finished the task they too will be sent away. All rules as in PGT will be applicable, helping material and load will be provided. Time about 20-25 minutes to each sub-group.<\/p>\n (f)\u00a0 Lecturette : <\/u><\/strong>( Not in AFSB)\u00a0This is a short talk limited to 3 minutes. Each candidate will be\u00a0required to give a short talk on the topic chosen from amongst four topics offered (which are\u00a0written on a card). Each candidate will get a different card. 3 minutes are allowed for\u00a0preparation and immediately after the preparation time is over, candidate will face the group\u00a0and deliver the talk in the next 3 minutes . The monitoring of time is done by the GTO, who\u00a0will use a bell for the time signal. The task shall continue till all candidates of the group\u00a0deliver\u00a0their talk one\u00a0by\u00a0one.<\/p>\n (g)\u00a0 \u00a0Individual Obstacles:<\/u>\u00a0<\/strong>This is another task which the candidates will do individually ,ie, one\u00a0by one. In this task candidates are required to negotiate 10 obstacles in a time of 3minutes.\u00a0The obstacles are numbered serially 1-10 and the points\u00a0which can be scored are equal to\u00a0the serial number. In case a candidate negotiates all the obstacles and has time left,\u00a0the\u00a0candidate\u00a0can\u00a0then\u00a0repeat\u00a0any\u00a0obstacle\u00a0and\u00a0score\u00a0that\u00a0many\u00a0extra\u00a0points,\u00a0however\u00a0to\u00a0do\u00a0it\u00a0a third time the candidate will have to negotiate successfully all the 10 obstacle twice. The\u00a0obstacles are not laid out in any particular order therefore candidates are free to negotiate\u00a0obstacle in any order they feel like. The GTO shall show each obstacle and explain the\u00a0method in which the obstacle is to be negotiated, no trial is allowed.
