The government issued an explanation that these apps are illegally exporting data to locations outside India. It didn\u2019t mention the relation of apps with China, but these apps are mostly of Chinese origin or have a major part of investments from Chinese companies.\u00a0The government gave a chance to these apps to represent their side and submit clarifications.<\/span><br \/>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.trishuldefenceacademy.in\/blog\/ssb-interview\/what-is-blank-slide-in-thematic-appreciation-test-tat-in-ssb\/\">What Is Blank Slide In Thematic Appreciation Test (TAT) in SSB ?<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Impact of the ban:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As per the Indian government report, these apps are transferring the user data to the locations outside India in an unauthorized manner. This is a serious threat to the privacy of Indian citizens. So, this ban is a step towards protecting the privacy and security of Indian citizens\u2019 data.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other apps will also\u00a0strictly follow the rules fearing the ban<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This step will also\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reduce India\u2019s digital dependency<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. And Indian startups and established companies will be greatly benefitted in gaining user base.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other countries may also take similar steps<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0to protect the privacy of their citizens.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This step will\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">counter China\u2019s efforts to become a tech giant<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The banned apps have a large user base in India.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ban will\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">add fuel to the Boycott China campaign<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which is intensifying due to the coronavirus pandemic and also because of China\u2019s aggression at borders.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This move\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">may bring more investment to the data centres in India.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many Indians were demanding a ban on Tik Tok too from a long time due to its weak content moderation and the presence of vulgar content on the platform. As Tik Tok is watched by children and adolescents too, many were demanding a ban. Even though the app was banned for a short time a year ago, the ban was lifted later. So,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the recent ban of Tik Tok app made many people happy<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some Indians are earning income from these apps<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0and some others are employed in their offices.
