The risk of landslides is increasing continuously in the hill districts of Uttarakhand. According to the latest seven-year data, the number of landslides has increased by more than 10 times. Scientists attribute the increase in landslides to changes in rainfall patterns in mountainous regions and changes in the shape and slope of mountains due to human activities.
