These seven companies are not new, but 41 ordnance factories ranging from 120 years to 220 years old.<\/p>\n

The Defense Production Department has forgotten that 76,000 workers are still working in these factories. In this regard, by writing a letter to the Secretary, Department of Defense Production on September 23, the employee organizations have demanded that the misleading advertisement be removed with immediate effect. Employees of all Ordnance Factories will not eat lunch on October 1 in protest against the function to be organized by ‘Department of Defense Production’.<\/p>\n

C. Sreekumar, general secretary of All India Defense Employees’ Federation ‘AIEDF’, said, what could be more shameful situation in the country. The 220-year-old Ordnance Factories, the heritage of the nation, were forgotten in an instant. The Department of Defense Production does not even remember that these are the same factories that supplied equipment to the Indian Army in the war with Pakistan, Bangladesh Liberation War, Battle of Kargil and skirmishes in Ladakh.<\/p>\n

Let us inform that in the meeting of the Union Cabinet held on June 16, the 220-year-old Ordnance Factories, which are called the fourth side of Indian Defense, were divided into seven companies. The government had an eye on these factories for a long time. Private companies and foreign arms manufacturers are getting happy with this decision of the government. The reason being, the private companies were not able to compete with the 41 Ordnance Factories till now. Now the way has been cleared for private companies to come. Private companies like Mahindra, Tata and L&T are entering the defense manufacturing sector.<\/p>\n

After converting the ordnance factories into seven companies, these factories will not get direct work from the Army, Air Force and Navy. As Sreekumar, the government wants private companies to compete with these factories. Now it has been arranged that private companies will also be involved in the tender process.<\/p>\n

The aim of the government is to hand over these factories to private hands as soon as possible. These factories have land worth two lakh crore rupees, it should be grabbed. The government is facing difficulties in selling Air India. Because it is a company.<\/p>\n

The government has divided 41 factories into seven companies. This will make it easier for the government to sell them. This move of the government is playing with the strategic skills and management of the Indian defence. In a letter sent to the Secretary of Defense Production, employees’ organizations like AIDEF, INDWF, NPDEF and BPMS have said, “This is a deceptive move of the department.” The people of the country are being misled. It’s a hoax with people. The factories which have been running for 220 years, by making them a company, the government is inaugurating them afresh.<\/p>\n

Representatives of the employees’ organizations say that for the last four-five years, these factories are not being given jobs. Apprentice training is given, but appointment letter is not received. In the Ordnance Factory located in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, the youth having the job of 103 apprentices had to go on a hunger strike for appointment letters. The same is true in other factories. The youth are being trained by paying a stipend of two-three thousand rupees, but they are not being recruited.<\/p>\n

The central government converted 220-year-old factories into seven corporations under the guise of the Corona period. Former Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar was against such a deal. They wanted to carry forward the present form of ordnance factories.<\/p>\n

The people close to the government are keeping an eye on the land worth Rs 2 lakh crore with these factories. The government is trying to get this land to its favorite industrialists at the cost of whips. There are many factories for which farmers and tribals have given their land.
