No Women Officer Selected In Territorial Army : Territorial Army 2021 written exam is set to be conducted on 26th September 2021. But how many of us are aware of the fact that no women officer is selected in non-departmental unit of Territorial Army.<\/p>\n

Now 8 women candidate have reached the Supreme Court to safeguard their right to seek result and selection. Supreme Court bench headed by Justice and Navin Chawla issued notices and asked the Centre, Chief of the Army Staff, Additional Director General of Recruiting and Territorial Army to respond to the petition and listed the matter for further hearing on December 15.<\/p>\n

The plea has been filed by the eight women candidates who had applied for TA (Territorial Army) 2019 exam. It alleges that despite opening up selection to women in 2019 the authorities have not published the final result till date and have selected the candidates.<\/p>\n

The authorities have replied the petitioners that there are limited vacancies for women candidates and merit list is based subject to vacancy.<\/p>\n

But as per earlier conduct and practice all medically fit candidates were called in to join the services. According to the information, the first and only woman candidate till now to get selected in the Territorial Army in the year 2019 was enlisted in Railway Unit of Territorial Army which is the departmental unit of TA but the notification was for the non-departmental unit of Territorial Army.<\/p>\n

Trishul Defence Academy strongly bats for the immediate announcement of the result women candidates selected in Territorial Army 2019 (non-departmental unit). On one hand Supreme Court has given the official ruling that Girls are to be allowed in NDA exam but particularly in Indian Army they have to reach the courts to fight for their right to promotion, permanent commission and now selection in Territorial Army which is part of the Indian Army.<\/p>\n
