Indian Naval Ship Khanjar, mission deployed in the Southern Indian Ocean Region (IOR), arrived at Trincomalee, Sri Lanka for an operational turnaround. The ship was accorded a customary welcome by the Sri Lanka Navy. During the ship’s visit, the two navies will engage in various activities including planning discussions, professional exchanges on the topics of mutual interest, sports fixtures and visits onboard Khanjar by trainees from the Naval and Maritime Academy, Sri Lanka. Army Chief General MM Naravane arrived in Colombo on Tuesday on a four-day visit aimed at strengthening the military ties between India and Sri Lanka. India and Sri Lanka will start a 12-day long joint military exercise from Monday, with a focus on increasing counter-terrorism cooperation.
