INS Khanjar arrives at Trincomalee, Sri Lanka
Indian Naval Ship Khanjar, mission deployed in the Southern Indian Ocean Region (IOR), arrived at Trincomalee, Sri Lanka for an operational turnaround. The ship was accorded a customary welcome by the Sri Lanka Navy. During the ship’s visit, the two navies will engage in various activities including planning discussions, professional exchanges on the topics of mutual interest, sports fixtures and visits onboard Khanjar by trainees from the Naval and Maritime Academy, Sri Lanka. Army Chief MM Naravane On 4 Day Sri Lanka Visit
Army Chief General MM Naravane arrived in Colombo on Tuesday on a four-day visit aimed at strengthening the military ties between India and Sri Lanka. He will discuss regional challenges in view of China’s continued efforts to increase influence here. The army chief will meet the top military officers of Sri Lanka. 12 day military exercise between India and Sri Lanka Begins
India and Sri Lanka will start a 12-day long joint military exercise from Monday, with a focus on increasing counter-terrorism cooperation. According to the Ministry of Defense, the 8th edition of the exercise ‘Mitra Shakti’ will be conducted from October 4 to October 15 at the Combat Training School in Ampara, Sri Lanka. “The objective of this exercise is to enhance close ties and inter-operability between the armies of the two countries and to share best practices in counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism operations,” the ministry said.
