Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Saryu Canal National Project worth Rs 9,802 crore in Balrampur district of Uttar Pradesh on 11 December 2021. PM Modi first inspected the model related to the Saryu canal project along with the Governor and CM. After that, by pressing the button, the country’s largest irrigation project was launched. It is being told that due to the Saryu Canal National Project, more than 14 lakh hectares of land will be irrigated. Nine districts connecting Bahraich to Gorakhpur will benefit from this project. With this, about 14 and a half lakh hectares can be irrigated.
