Caste Based Reservation in NDA : The Supreme Court on Tuesday (March 8) expressed reluctance to deal with a petition seeking reservation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes in the National Defense Academy (NDA). A bench of Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and MM Sundar said it is dealing with the issue of women’s inclusion in the NDA and clarified that it will not entertain the petition for caste-based reservation. 27 percent reservation for OBC students and 10 percent for EWS in medical courses
The Modi government has taken a big decision on 29 July 2021 regarding reservation in medical education. Reservation will be given to Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Economically Backward (EWS) class in medical education. OBC will be given 27 percent and EWS will be given 10 percent reservation.
