The Officers Training Academy (OTA) is a training institute of the Indian Army that trains officers for Short Service Commission (SSC) and some other types of commissions. The academy is located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, and was established in 1963. The OTA offers a 49-week training course for men and a 51-week training course for women, after which the officers are commissioned as Lieutenant in the Indian Army. The training at OTA focuses on developing leadership skills, physical fitness, and military tactics, among other things. The academy also offers training for officers from friendly foreign countries.
