The Union Government approved a new scheme New India Literacy Program for the period from financial year 2022 to 2027 to cover all aspects of adult education in order to align with the National Education Policy 2020 and budget announcement 2021-22. The National Policy on Education 2020 has recommended adult education and lifelong learning. The Union Budget 2021-22, was announced to enable increased access to resources.
