The glory of 21 years was so impressed with a fiery speech by Kargil war heroine Captain Yashika Tyagi that she decided to join the army. Despite having no army background, she took the examination held under Civil Engineering category of Short Service Commission Women Technical Officer and secured the first position. Now Mahima Singla, a student of Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, will be recruited as a lieutenant in the army. Mahima says that in the second year of civil engineering, she got a chance to hear Captain Yashika Tyagi, a war veteran who showed bravery during the Kargil War.
