NEW Delhi: On Tuesday, President Ram Nath Kovind gave his approval to Justice NV Ramana’s appointment as India’s next Chief Justice (CJI). On April 24, Justice Ramana will be sworn in as India’s 48th Chief Justice. On August 26, 2022, Justice Ramana will step down. Justice SA Bobde, the current Chief Justice of India, recommended Justice NV Ramana as his successor last month.
