Indian Army constitutes new wing for human rights issues

The Indian Army has formed a new wing under the leadership of an officer of the rank of Major General to further enhance transparency in human rights matters. Major General Gautam Chauhan took over as Additional Director General (Human Rights) at the Army Headquarters on Thursday. The launch of this wing is in line with the Army’s decision to ensure transparency in conducting anti-terror operations, the army said on Friday.
