Increase In Financial Aid To Families of All Martyred Central Armed Police Forces Personnel

Preparations are on to increase the amount of financial assistance to the families of all the Central Armed Police Forces personnel who lost their lives while on duty. The Ministry of Home Affairs is considering a proposal to increase this amount to Rs 35 lakh. According to sources, instructions in this regard can also be issued by all the forces soon. MHA Extends Jurisdiction Of BSF In West Bengal, Punjab and Assam

Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has increased the jurisdiction of the Border Security Force (BSF) and now BSF officers have been given the powers of arrest, search and seizure. BSF officers will be able to conduct arrests and searches in West Bengal, Punjab and Assam. BSF has got the right to take this action under CrPC, Passport Act and Passport (Entry to India) Act.
