The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on Tuesday successfully flight tested the Man-Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missile (MPATGM). The defence ministry said the anti-tank missile was flight-tested in its final “deliverable configuration”. The indigenously developed MPATGM is a low weight, “fire and forget” missile. “The Defence Research and Development Organisation successfully flight tested the final deliverable configuration of Man-Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missile (MPATGM) on January 11,” the ministry said. “The missile impacted the designated target and destroyed it. The final impact event was captured on camera and the test has validated the minimum range successfully,” it said. It said the test firing was carried out to
DRDO Design Extreme Cold Clothing System For Army
The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has designed a special type of clothing system to save the Indian Army from the troubles of extreme cold weather. The news agency ANI gave this information on Tuesday, quoting the Ministry of Defense. DRDO handed over the technology of Extreme Cold Weather Clothing System (ECWCS) to 5 Indian companies, the ministry said. 3-layered ECWCS provides thermal insulation between +15° to -50°C. ECWS is needed by the Indian Army for continuous operations in glaciers and Himalayan peaks.” The Extreme Cold Weather Clothing System (ECWCS) has been designed by the Defense Institute of Physiology
India successfully tests Pralay missile off Odisha coast
India on Wednesday successfully test-fired short-range, the surface to surface-guided ballistic missile ‘Pralay’ off the Odisha coast, DRDO sources said. The solid-fuel, battlefield missile developed by Defence Research Development Organisation is based on Prithvi Defence Vehicle from the Indian ballistic missile programme. The missile, launched from the APJ Abdul Kalam Island around 10.30 am, met all the mission objectives, the sources said. A battery of tracking instruments monitored its trajectory along the coastline, they said. ‘Pralay’ is a 350-500 km short-range, surface-to-surface missile with a payload capacity of 500-1,000 kg.
India successfully test-fired next generation Agni-P ballistic missile
On December 18, 2021, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully test-fired the new generation nuclear-capable ballistic missile ‘Agni Prime’ from APJ Abdul Kalam island off the coast of Odisha in Balasore. Various telemetry, radar, electro-optical stations and downrange ships positioned along the eastern coast tracked and monitored the missile trajectory and parameters. The missile followed a textbook trajectory meeting all mission objectives with a high level of accuracy. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh extended his congratulations to DRDO for the successful flight test and expressed his gratitude for the excellent performance of the system. DRDO Successfully Launches SMART Anti-Submarine Missile
India successfully launched Long Range Supersonic Missile Assisted of Torpedoes (SMART) off the coast of Balasore in Odisha today. After this launch, DRDO said that this system has been designed to increase the anti-sub marine warfare capability, far beyond the conventional range of torpedoes. It is a system in which torpedoes are accompanied by missiles. SMART is a type of anti-ship missile, in which a torpedo of low weight is applied. This torpedo is used as a payload. With the power of both of these, it becomes an anti-submarine missile. With this, where the power of the missile is available,
India Successfully Tests Pinaka Rocket System
