Tokyo Paralympics : Avani Lekhara Wins First Gold Medal In Shooting

Indian shooter Avani Lekhara has won India’s first gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympics. On 30 August 2021, Avani has won the gold medal in the women’s 10m air rifle class SH1 in the shooting competition. Avani Lekhara has given India its first gold medal by performing brilliantly. She set a Paralympic record with a score of 249.6 and equaled the world record. With this victory, Avni has also equaled the world record of Iriana Shetnik of Ukraine. This is India’s first gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympics. She won this gold medal in the women’s 10m air event SH-1.
